GFNY Pennsylvania race week activities like packet pickup, the race start & finish and post-race festivities take place at the Old Main building of York Expo Center. With ample parking on site, race day planning for you and your supporters is very easy.
From the start at the York Expo, you will head southwest for 8 miles along well-paved roads into the York countryside before taking on a 27-mile loop. Ride past farm fields and wooded hillsides. The rolling hills vary from 200ft to 1000ft in altitude, serving you one challenge after another, with only the descents to provide some rest, and no flat riding in sight. The scenic nature will leave you in awe but the hills will put a sting in your legs. This southern York County is known for some of the best cycling in the region.
Relish in the climbing, descending and fun of cycling along impressive nature of the historic Seven Valleys basin, along the base of Huntrick Hill, Saubel Hill, past rocky ridges and through majestic forests, lush meadows, creeks and valleys. York County is the foothills spanning from New York to Alabama, the hills turn into mountains to the west and coastal flat to the east.
Long route riders repeat the loop a 2nd time before heading back to the finish line at York Expo Center. Post-race festivities await you at the Old Main Building.
LONG COURSE IS A COMPETITION: Only the finishers of the long course are eligible for category rankings and Overall and Podium awards. If you want to race and be ranked in your category, you must complete the long course. Top 10% of finishers in each age group earn a spot in the Qualifier Corral at every GFNY World event.
MEDIUM COURSE IS NOT A COMPETITION: The riders of the medium course will be provided their start-to-finish time, but will not be ranked by finish time. All finish times will be listed in alphabetical order.
